Character who can literally nuke cities from afar is killed by Sasuke, a character to whom he had no connection, for no reason other than to show how strong Sasuke is :catflip
I remember how years ago I was watching Naruto with my girlfriend. She refused to watch around the start of part 2, because she could not stand Sasuke's character, especially the way Sakura and Naruto were obsessed about him.

People nag no matter what one says. Because paranoid, it's normal.
:catshrug

My logic was "well you haven't made a case for anyone yet yourself and the phase is about to end, why are you spending all of this time deconstructing my case and ignoring everything else that's happened".

But there's barely anything to go by D1 and I become an easy target if my case isn't strong, which it won't be because it's D1.

No case > mediocre case

Lesson learnt:doge

Yeah that part of the series was always super weird. I hope this isn't ignorant of me, but I assumed it's some Japanese cultural thing that I didn't get. It was part of the bigger theme with "never leaving friends/teammates behind"/"those who abandon their teammates are worse than scum," which I think is a Japanese culture thing?

Makes me feel like trying my hand at hosting with a Naruto game at that.

It's more of a genre thing; Kishi still played it strangely.

I had a bad feeling about Kue when he mentioned day abilities - immediately thought of vote stealer who is usually a scum role in Nitty's game.
I've given town roles day abilities and vote silencer/vote stealer abilities before, but in general scum is likely to have day abilities because you usually want town abilities to be able to be roleblocked.

As far as I remember it was Sasuke who turned on his friends and only got better at the end of manga? Anyway, Sakura's unrequited love towards Sasuke who did not care about her at all and was an asshole completely destroyed her character.

I'm not sure I would go as far to say Sasuke didn't care. He cared about both Naruto and Sakura, he just got a little lost afterwards with the ~Uchiha brain chemistry~. :tiredpepe

It was so poorly done because, by that point, Sasuke had been gone from his team for as long as (if not longer than) he was actually with them. And in the brief time he was with them, they didn't get along due in large part to him treating both of them poorly. The only "bonding experiences" they had were in life threatening situations where they had to work together to survive. So you have Naruto and Sakura basically dedicating their lives to finding some guy they barely knew a few years ago, and then they do find him and he almost kills them just to get them to leave him alone, but that doesn't deter them? What even was their plan at that point? Were they going to just kidnap him and hold him until he agreed to... live in Konoha again? Be part of their "team" again? I have so many questions, lol.

The K12 were mostly 16 year old Chunins at that point. It would have been a long time before any of them except Naruto, Lee, Neji, and maybe Shikamaru or Hinata could do anything against an Akatsuki member. I don't think Kishi should have randomly made all the K12 strong enough to fight Akatsuki members, that wouldn't have made sense.
not 1 on 1 lol

something like kakuzu's fight

Pretty sure Naruto and Sasuke had some interactions pre academy and in the academy. They also related to each other as loners with no family. Sakura was just in love.

Using the threat to not play future games is really bad sportsmanship.. both as town and as scum.

Kvothe did something like this in the past game and ended up flipping scum, but I switched votes feeling guilty. Makes me want to stick to my vote on tinky even more even though I feel bad.
this is slander though

i've never threatened to not play any games in the future nor would I ever vote myself out of anger. smh

But they were both alone, so Naruto knows Sasuke's pain.

Bleh. Still poor even by childish standards.

Naruto and Sasuke hated each other. There were one or two moments where they mentioned having some things in common like you said, but it was only a few times and it never caused a change in their otherwise hateful relationship. Do you remember when they literally almost killed each other outside the hospital, and Kakashi had to pull them apart? :lmao

Looool but that's how brothers fight though

Friends fight all the time :catshrug

Emotional bond is stronger than indifference.

Sure. But Naruto being apart from him for a few years and then coming back to hyperventilate over him is still way too extreme no matter their relationship.
True, the constant SASUKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE might have been a bit overblown. But that's the type of person Kishi wanted Naruto to be, one which never gives up.

And frankly I get the "How can a guy who can’t save one friend become Hokage?" sentiment.

That sentiment is cool, and the theme around it fits the entire manga. He shouldn't have gave up on Sasuke, but he should have his priorities much better - to realize over the TS that there were other people in his life beside Sasuke and that protecting them (from Sasuke himself if needs be) is more important. It would fit a lot better than him going Wedding Cake on Sasuke.

Haha, remember that they're kids :HeartPepe

Naruto and Sasuke didn't have a friendship. They might have felt a sense of kinship with each other, but that is not the same thing as having a friendship. Kishi only ever showed them being mean to each other. The only positive ways they related to each other were 1. "he is my teammate and I need him to help me survive," or 2. "I am motivated to be stronger than him." It's a nice idea for Naruto to try and help Sasuke out at some point despite their animosity because of that sense of kinship they have, but Kishi took that idea so far beyond the point of reason that it was just ridiculous. Objectively speaking, Naruto had an unhealthy fixation on Sasuke, but Kishi wasn't trying to write it that way so it wasn't treated as such.

Oh I disagree. The fixation on Sasuke later on was overblown, but they made perfect sense when they were rivals and fighting like brothers over acknowledging each other.
In what way were Naruto and Sasuke friends? I don't remember then having so much as a friendly conversation at any point. They treated each other terribly and almost killed or maimed each other before Sasuke even left the village. They didn't fight like brothers, they fought like enemies.

The rivalry and craziness from Sasuke came after the clash on the roof if I remember correctly, that's after Itachi trashed him, but before that they were looking out for each other even if it didn't seem so in the obvious sense.

They were "looking out for each other" because they were frequently in life threatening situations together where failure could result in one of them dying, and the team being unable to continue

First of all they actively kept saving each other in battle, because they cared. Second of all, the constant bickering is a trait of being like family (maybe if you have siblings, it rings a bell?). Naruto himself told Sasuke he felt connected to him early on.

When they fought before Sasuke left, they fought out of anger, Kakashi explained it: Sasuke was frustrated over Itachi and seeing Naruto truly making progress, and Naruto was eager to show Sasuke how he isn't a useless ninja like angry Sasuke claims. Clearly such a strong emotional reaction can only happen if they cared about each other's opinions a lot.

Did you actually think he was scum?
I was reasonably sure at the time. I had 3 susses besides Kue, which were Tinky, Nat and Usopp. Tinky made me believe him just by the tone of his posts in the final stretch of the last day. Nat I was iffy on but I didn't think, even if I hit her with an attack, it would work thanks to Kamui. So I went with Usopp who even if i fucked up on, I don't think woulda been a big issue tbh.

I wouldn't say it was one for one comparison, but it felt really similar. The whole talk about being frustrated about the game made me feel bad about voting you up. I'd rather people stuck to the game then involve personal emotions.

I'm sorry for not being specific enough.

im like that regardless of being townie or mafia cause i get too emotionally invested.

thank you though, i just didn't want people to misunderstand.

dont lie u just wanted me gone :dotell

Ah, so it was just a counterclaim. :maybe

Like I've said before, finding me scummy doesn't count. Town reading me and being right is the real test.

do you realize I argued with you long before the counterclaim because I had a heavy scum read on you.

I will have to play with town you
I have seen some past games
you play differently as town. like I said you were scummy.

maybe I shouldnt make this my last game so you can observe how I play . also let go of kvothe ptsd lol.

Eh, PTSD is too hard of a term for what happened. It was a more recent example I could use, it was pure game.

I hate being scum tbh, I'll never say I'm good at it. Good riddance if I get killed lynched or killed lol.

I enjoy being scum if I get it rarely, but it seems like mods/RNGesus really wants me to play scum all the time. The last time I won as scum is after I had a town streak, it just seems people watch me because I tend to get scum roles a lot.

I'm an amazing jester though.

Lol sorry, I didn't know that. You just had the misfortune of picking a character I had good scum ability ideas for. :lmao

i rly dont think u got lynched cuz ppl scum read u

but rather cuz ur day action claim just got them scared of perona role from last game and u being possibly untrackable at night lol

other than that dont think u were sus at all

A lot of people scum read him
well he was busy so hardly any activity day 1

added to his claim to day target melkor, when he hardly sus'ed melkor in the game

u can see why he is getting suspected. its cuz of angle shooting reasons

like

1. him being super busy and unable to rly explain his thoughts or reads as much as he would like
2. his claim spooking ppl from something related to last nitty game

and there u have it, a desperate town trying hard to grasp at anything suspicious would definitely lynch him lol
