Shizune adding quoting mechanic this game after the zyra controversy had me dead

What controversy darling? I certainly don't remember one!

In with traditional mafia fashion, I'll spite kill LG for this in a later game

That's how things work around here, right?

Bitch, you'd have to actually be active to do that. I ain't worried. :p
I had a good deal of posts d1, and if I had your weave to go after d2 I could have been more motivated to do something that day. Searching through who was around and should have been calling out your bullshit as a means of narrowing down who your scummates might be was much less interesting.

I dunno what y'all are so focused on the quoting part for anyway

I thought the main complaint was that Zyra was a silent arsonist

Well girls, I just retired quoting mechanics, but I never said anything about silent arsonists! Seethe about it ladies!
Silent arsonist is the most offensive part of it, but it became completely disgusting due to the quoting spread of it which made it considerably faster than your average arsonist.

The 2016 Zyra role, for the uninitiated:
Zyra
wincon: eliminate all other players

[Passive - Friends All Around] - Zyra hears the whispers of nature, telling her the name of anyone who targets her.

[Passive - Rise of the Thorns] - Upon Zyra's death she and her seeds will sprout into gargantuan, mystical plants, delaying her death by one cycle and killing anyone with seeds on them. At the end of the cycle Zyra can lash out one last time, superkilling a player of her choosing.

[Active - A Promising Garden] - During the day Zyra can plant seeds on a post of her choosing. The seeds will attach themselves to any players who quote that post.

[Two Shot Active - Rampant Growth] - Zyra can directly sprout seeds on another player.

And yeah, Genome. It was sloppy on my part. I'm used to madness games where it wouldn't have been punished as bad (or I'd have mechanics to defend with) and I have hilariously little experience playing mafia side of the game

It might have been okay for you to come out with information and "power wolf" as a different faction, but that was the opposite of how the Gurubashi faction was setup. Your faction began the game outnumbered and somewhat defenseless, but the tradeoff was that if you managed to lie low and survive, all your roles were excellent late game particularly with the Hakkar faction bonus. Your play was more suited to your rival faction, the Crusade, because they were meant to get ahead early before the Gurubashi could get strong.

Melodie really was town :shocked

>also

>me
>wad
>law
>didi
>all town

Mafia never stood a chance

And imagine me playing the worst out of everyone there.

I kept myself from tilting though :catdab

Then the counterclaimed survivor d1 who is hostile indie survived until the end of the game god knows how :lul

Fucking gg ez :lul

Plat's Mexican Madness, then WAD's um... umm...

I'm blanking on the name of WAD's game but I think it's superhero related

I want to say it's called Big Brother but I know that's not right

Big Brother????

this is a BIG MAC DADDY tea nitty!!!

@Shizune

But also was everyone right about Desperate Prayer?

Oh

Desperate Prayer was a self-resurrect that triggered if you got lynched

Y'know, staying in line with your faction bonus and all

I dunno if y'all realized this yet but every role is just a different interpretation of their faction bonus. The best example of this is the Kirin Tor roles. Both can continue posting after death. Mahar can still use abilities after death but loses his vote, while Ansirem loses his abilities but retains his vote.

tfw mafia psyched themselves out of killing me because they thought it would be a waste with a BP but i was completely vulnerable :dead

that zyra role was terrible

reminder that i called melodie mafia at least 10 times that game but everyone was too busy following marco :dammit
She wasn't mafia though that was the problem. Townies had every reason to believe they had that game won because they had mafia on the ropes and there were zero indications of another hostile faction. The SK was openly dead and there were numerous janitors roles that could have been the other potential hostile indies.

Nah girl I'm genuinely curious for your feedback now that your feedback is valid because you're actually seen the setup

I wasn't mad at you earlier you were just tryna submit some invalid ass feedback

I mean if you got problems with the setup I would like to know them rather than you just not telling me what they are

The point I was making is that every time I play your games I feel like I'm not able to enjoy them as much as others because they seem to be written in a way that people who know the source material have an advantage. At some point it turns to people just talking about Warcraft while I'm feeling lost, so I just coast while the Warcraft players lead the game.

I don't know if that is an attribute of your games in general or if it's because a lot of people here know Warcraft and other Blizzard works and I don't.

I don't intend to examine your setup to figure out what that is.

Well I hear you girl, I know this is a particularly big problem in my Warcraft setups because I go really heavy on the story. My favorite games to make are the ones with no story at all, like my HST and League of Legends games. Besides Warcraft, most of my games aren't story-driven.

Thanks man, I was having a hard time giving this feedback without it sounding like I think all of your games are bad or something. I think they are very well-made, it's just that I had this feeling that was bothering me for a while, and when people started accusing me of not knowing my role was evil, I flipped.

Btw, my role could still win with town, right?

i really think he’s over exaggerating the emphasis of the story

sure, someone with flavor knowledge of a setup is gonna have a certain edge to it, naturally, but i don’t think it created the unfair advantage he might believe it did

I don't think he's saying it created an advantage for anyone

I think he's just saying that he gets overwhelmed and tunes out, which I 110% understand, I avoid games where I don't know the theme too for the exact same reason

Not sure about this game, but that effect where the game turns into a circle-jerk of people talking about Warcraft is something I really think happens.

yea i get that but also a lot of games are hosted with a secondary purpose of “hey this series/game/show/book is pretty cool and you should definitely check it out”

it’s happened to me before

that said

don’t get into world of Warcraft, anyone :ufdup

I have nothing against WoW but I haven't played a single MMORPG since 2009 and I'm proud of it.

I mean DDL isn't wrong nor is he telling me something I didn't know. Since I started doing my story-driven Warcraft games I've known they're very confusing for people new to the theme. I try and alleviate the problem by giving players things to orient themselves around, like factions, but at the end of the day the setup is still closed and people are gonna feel like they don't even know where to start. Especially with a host who uses things like death millers.
