I maintain that this wasn't a bastard game, and that I don't host bastard games. Everything written in the OP was upheld as true. I was clear about what kinds of mechanics I wouldn't use, like death millers and jesters, and everything else was fair game. I specifically said that information presented in writeups was always true, and I also specifically never said information in PMs was always true.
I think because this game was more traditional than recent years have been, people actually got a little too comfortable and didn't tinfoil enough. I don't consider this a bastard game because I never contradicted myself, and I left clues
everywhere to help you figure things out, right down to making
@Karma share a submitter with Fuji's fake role so that attention should have been on Fuji.
In fact, Fuji was put on the spot to come up with a fake role when
@JoJo surprised him with a private chat, and I really don't feel Fuji's fake role was convincing, but Jojo didn't even bother reading the role.
There's also a
lot of context here. These kinds of mechanics are commonly known and expected. I and other hosts have used fake neighbor roles, as well as secret mafia traitors. Neither of these are new types of mechanics, nor were they even utilized in unusual ways here. I don't blame you for not expecting them, but you also can't blame me for not expecting you to be surprised by them.
I even specifically told you all that your team had a theme of being disorganized, and not working together. This was shown through your lack of a team chat, but I included flavor text about it as well.
